🇬🇧

UK HSE

“site diary”Close equivalent

Not explicitly required by CDM 2015 as a separate document, but the duty to maintain the construction phase plan (regulation 12) and to keep records of inspections (Work at Height Regulations 2005, Schedule 7) creates a body of contemporaneous records that together constitute a site diary. HSE guidance and industry practice treat a daily site diary as essential records of the construction phase.

Jurisdiction note: A site diary is a matter of good practice and contractual obligation rather than a direct statutory requirement. It supports compliance with CDM and WAHR record-keeping duties.

Irish HSA

“site diary”Close equivalent

Not explicitly required by the Construction Regulations 2013 as a standalone document, but the duties of the PSCS to maintain the safety and health plan and inspection records create equivalent contemporaneous documentation. A site diary is expected as part of the safety management system for notifiable projects.

Practitioner note: Not explicitly required as a standalone document by CDM 2015, but the contemporaneous records required (construction phase plan updates, inspection records) effectively constitute one.
